Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) Telehealth Therapy

Living with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) can be confusing, frightening, and isolating. Symptoms may come and go, and they may shift from one type of symptom to another. Some examples are movement difficulties, loss of function or weakness in limbs—such as arms, legs, or the ability to swallow and speak—tremors, twitching, unbalanced gait, seizures, fatigue, cognitive fog, or sensory hyper-sensitivities that can significantly impact your daily life.

For many people with FND, they’ve heard it all—from doctors who may feel helpless because your MRIs or blood panels are normal—or family, friends, and loved ones who may unintentionally make it sound like you’re exaggerating or making it up. The truth is that FND treatment often encourages psychotherapy, specialized PT, and other holistic help that compliment rather than distract from the source of your pain.

The therapy space can provide a shared container to explore, process, and support the communication between the brain and body. By reducing the danger signals, slowing it down to a pace your nervous system needs, and approaching your protective parts with respect and openness, you can begin to shift the relationship between you, your body, and the areas of your life you may be longing to meet again. We can develop greater confidence, resilience, and self-compassion for ALL of you.

My approach recognizes the complex relationship between the nervous system, your cherished life experiences—both the joys and the losses— your external and internal stressors, feelings, and physical sensations. Together, we can explore ways to support nervous system regulation, reduce fear and self-criticism, strengthen your natural coping capacities, and reconnect with meaning and purpose.

You do not need to spend sessions convincing me that your symptoms are real. Therapy offers a supportive space to help you navigate the challenges of FND while holding onto the hope that healing is possible!
